The Legacy tS was one of several car models to have its name updated from the traditional ‘tuned by STI’ appellation to ‘tS’, now used on all models where STI has focused on improving vehicle handling. Based on the Legacy Station Wagon and Sedan 2.5GT, these models were designed with handling in mind for beginners, passengers as well as advanced drivers to feel comfortable. This was done based on the concept ‘Sport, Always’ –the interaction between car and driver being like playing a sport; a theme which is common across all the STI road car range. Dampers and coil springs tuned by STI, a Flexible Tower Bar, Flexible Draw Stiffener Front RH, and Flexible Support Rear were fitted and detailed tuning was performed to achieve a ‘flexible yet elegant driving feel’ particular to the BM/BR Legacy. Furthermore, this model also featured a front under spoiler, rear spoiler, STI aluminium wheels, a sport muffler, black interior trim, special trim panelling, a leather/Alcantara combination seat, side sill plates with the ‘tS’ logo, a 260 km/h full-scale combination meter and other components; a perfect fit for a sophisticated sport model.
